The gays...

The only bad gays are the ones who are transphobic. They're ignorant because it was a trans woman who threw that first brick at Stonewall, which paved the way for gay rights and gay marriage to be legalized. If you don't stand for all the letters in the LGBTQ community, then you're not welcome IMO. Though I believe most of those people aren't really gay, and just spread lies to side with Conservatives on the anti-trans movement.

I am a supporter of LGBTQ and I don't believe that gays should be blamed for things that happen in the world that can not be controlled. We will always have people saying that it is the gay's fault for something and that is going to always happen.

If anything people who are part of LGBTQ are no different from those of us who are straight, we are all human it's just that we are attracted to either the opposite sex or maybe both sexes, but that does not mean they are the cause for bad things in the world.

No, I think that gay people have done nothing wrong.

I don't understand the level of hatred that many people have towards them. They did nothing wrong and their choices should be respected.

Yeah, but some people just don't accept the gay community...

still to this day...

Out of interest, I found this: http://changingattitude.org.uk/why-are-some-people-homophobic/
By no means am I justifying homophobia. DISCRIMINATION IS UNACCEPTABLE REGARDLESS OF THE REASONS.
But I do enjoy psychological reasoning and debates, understanding the reasons for the behaviour and attitudes of others.

Religious Beliefs

Some people carry homophobic attitudes because of their religious beliefs; however it should be noted that not all religious people are homophobic. Some large Christian religions in the United Kingdom still teach that marriage is something which can only occur between a man and a woman. The Old Testament says that homosexual sex is a sin. Orthodox Islamic and Jewish texts also advise against homosexual activities.

Some progress has been made recently, as there are now a number of gay Protestant priests and Rabbis practicing in the UK. Many religions preach tolerance and acceptance of all people, and this often trumps anti-LGBT sentiments. Sadly, there are still some people who do continue to persecute and prejudice LGBT individuals because of their religious beliefs.
Very true, I know a lot of people who have unfortunately experienced this. :( It's tough to not be accepted especially when it comes from a religious place.

Lack of Education

Some people are transphobic or homophobic due to a lack of a real understanding of what it means to be LGBT. Without being able to access accurate information, they may struggle to make sense of the things that they hear. For example, a lot of transphobia is actually bred from a lack of understanding about the differences between sex and gender. Improving education about what it meant to be trans or what it means to be gay can actually help to reduce this type of discrimination. A lack of education may also mean that people say or do homophobic things without realising it. For example; when children use the word “gay” to mean “bad”, this furthers the idea that being gay is actually a bad thing.
This is very true, more so when it comes to trans issues. I know many who have experienced this sadly. So many people just don't understand the concept of using the preferred pronouns are ridicules such concept. :(

I've always deplored the misuse of the word "gay'; it makes it sound like it's a crime or something. 👿

Well, I am not against LGBTQ. I believe the state should not discriminate against people based on their sexual preference and gender identity. I also believe society should accept LGBTQ. Call it God or nature, these people were born the way they are. Why should they be discriminated against for not being "like you"?

Agreed, I think the Bible has multiple interpretations of whether LGBT is accepted in Christianity. These messages all contradict each other.
I think religious passages should be written more diligently, with love and acceptance for everyone, with no tolerance for harmful behaviours. And LGBT is not a behaviour, it is an identity. And not harmful. Meets neither of those criteria so should be written with love and acceptance.

Who in the world come with the term gay? I'm anti gay to be very honest with you. Most of the time, I don't like to talk about anything on gay because I get so pissed on the subject. I will just maintain the same approach in this subject because I don't want to attack their so called identity.

Why is that?

I don't have any problems with gays. What two consenting adults do with their clothes off doesn't concern me. And I don't believe they should be scapegoated for anything. Their sexual orientation is their problem and doesn't in anyway affect anyone else or the world at that.

They are also humans and I believe they are not to be blamed if anything went bad and others. Their orientations should not dictate what society will call them names. They should be loved as well because they are also beings like us. You make mistakes, they make mistakes, what's the difference?

There appears to be a commonly shared presupposition in this thread whereby the premise is -that all gays are being victimized by all non-gays all the time.

😄This premise is outrageous and fallacious.

One glaring example:
So a lot of people blame bad weather events and stuff on the gays... do you think the gays are the cause for anything bad?
☝️😂 I'm sure Maul must be joking, because I have never ever heard anyone blaming bad weather events on gays.

If someone ever did blame such a thing as weather events on gays—that someone would be an absolute moron imo.

Honestly I've never encountered anyone victimizing any gays—especially for no reason other than their gayness.

Yet I regularly see aggressive gays attacking others simply because the others won't acquiesce and participate in loudly promoting the politicized gay agenda.

Gays are not being victimized as the posters in this thread seem to portray.

Gays in general are facing justified backlash because of the aggressively imposed gay agenda.

In simple terms: this gay agenda is being forced on all others in the same aggressive manner certain religious nut cases do.

The reality is that average non-gay individuals simply do not care about anyone else's private sexual orientations.

Yet for some absurd reason we now have aggressive pro-gay groups actively going about forcing their personal sexual preferences on literally everyone else.

So of course there will be justified backlash from average individuals who are just trying to get on with their lives.

By what right does anyone have to force their personal sexual preferences on any other?

🤨There exists no such right.

Frankly this whole assumed victimhood mentality presented by some gays, is indicative of psychological dysfunction, no different to any "Cluster B"-"PD" individual.

I am not a gay myself, yet I have numerous irl friends & acquaintances, some of whom are very overtly gay—and yet I have never treated any one of them any different than any other individual.

None of these guys & gals have ever attempted to impose their homosexuality upon me and none of them are into playing the whole victimhood bullshit either. We've discussed this countless times over the years and the common opinion of these guys & gals is that the politicized mainstrean narrative of supposed gay victimhood—is a load of nonsense which they actually find variably offensive.

Additionally not one of them identifies as any other than their original gender. The gay guys identify as homosexual males, the gay gals identify as homosexual females.
Even they point out the absurdity of "gender identity" nonsense.

Imo anyone, gay or otherwise, claiming to be a victim simply because of their personal sexual preferences—is either not telling the truth &/or being disingenuous.

If you are gay and are actually being attacked in some way, I doubt it is merely due to your gayness and most likely because you've actually provoked justified backlash by aggressively attempting to force your personal sexual preferences on others who couldn't care less.

I'd advise re-assuming self responsibility instead of blaming everyone else for your choices & actions in life. Furthermore, perhaps consider refraining from continuing to be pawns for subversive political agendas.

No one cares if you want to be gay.

People only care when you attempt to force your chosen ideologies on them.

I am a strong ally of the LGBT community. I love my lesbian friends. I am not sure why people loathe the LGBTQ community so much. The world's problems are not the fault of LGBT people. We are all sinners; none is perfect.
Hey did you know that a lot of lesbian, gay, bi, trans & ***** individuals neither identify as their personal sexual preferences nor with this ambiguous fictive 'LGBTQ' so-called "community".

In real life I know plenty of individuals who's sexual preferences technically could be termed as lesbian, gay, bi, ***** or other....and yet every single one of them simply define their *sexual preference* as being that of 'gay', or 'bi', or '*****', or sometimes just 'camp'.

I think this whole "LGBTQ community" is a complete load of politically hijacked nonsense.

Why would I think that?

Well, because on many occasions I have directly-(*in real life, not online*)-discussed this specific subject at length with non-straight individuals I personally know—and they all tell me they find the whole "LGBTQ/+"-"community" to be entirely unrelated to them and actually extremely offensive due to the fact their individual sexual preferences have been hijacked & lumped together as a political virtue signaling tool which is being used for corporate agendas all while claiming to be done in the name of those from whom this "LGBTQ/+" brand label merely masquerades.

😂My irl gay mates are actually far more hostile than any of my straight mates towards the mainstream nonsensical "LGBTQ/+" fiction.

Put simply, those supporting this completely fabricated "LGBTQ/+" identity should really take a step back and realize that this politicized artificial ideology does not represent those whom it is disingenuously being used to proclaim as representative.

Consider this: Who actually came up with the "LGBTQ/+" idea?

Did they ever bother asking every single individual who's preferences are lesbian, gay, bi, trans or ***** if they would be ok with the defined terms for describing their sexual preferences being hijacked for political virtue signaling purposes?

Because the reality is that the fictive "LGBTQ/+" concept has been incredibly detrimental for actual non-straight individuals.

The only times I have ever seen-(supposedly)-non-straight individuals claiming to support "LGBTQ/+"....is online.
In most cases they aggressively proclaim that they identify as xyz and that they are always "the victim" of something.
However anyone can say anything online, so how would we know whether or not these online claims are even true?
