Should animals be in zoos?

To put it simply, keeping some animals in a zoo can sometimes be helpful as long as they are taken care of properly, given enough space to move around, and allowed to interact with people and other animals. However, some animals are not suitable for living in zoos and should not be kept in captivity. So, it is a yes and a no for me.

Civilisation has affected animals as well. People are looking to build more houses as the population increases. So, not putting animals in the zoo will limit the places that they build the houses as well. Personally, I agree with your assertion that it is cruel to have animals in the zoo.

Yeah I don't particularly agree with Zoo's. However, they do serve as a way to protect a species and some have great breeding programs that help preserve a species etc
That's right though I don't think they should be confine but the zoo kind of have a way of protecting them. So it is still a win win at the end of the day.

It is intention that defines whether an action is right or wrong. When animals are keep in zoo for entertainment, it is cruelty. Except the intentional of keep the animals is to preserve the animals against extinction, then it is not cruelty.

I slightly disagree that it is a win-win situation for an animal that is wild and can be able to survive by hunting. They hunt to eat, and being in the zoo have never been seen to help them in any way.

Eeeeehh, yes and no? Some kind of need to be pend up for their protection. The same could be said for dogs being kept at home where they need wide open fields to play in most days.
I liked your answer to compare the zoos.

I don't agree with either.
Zoos are not places to protect animals at all. If they were protecting the animals, they wouldn't allow the public into the zoo.
As a kid, I liked visiting it, but as I grew up, I can see how sad it is.

But we can't get them all into the zoo. They are other ones still in the wilds. It wouldn't be bad to protect some by having them in the zoo even if it is for recreational activities
