Make Kids Leave at 18

I'm also living with my dad, currently in my 30s. Not exactly proud of it, but best to keep an eye on him while I can save a ton of money in the process.
That's cool man. My Dad is 88, and my older brother lives with him to help him. I admit, if I wasn't with my girl, I'd be there with my brother and my old man.

Yes, the arguments do hold up. Unless you got a few pals you can split a place with, it is near impossible to go out on your own anymore.

But if you live rent-free at your parents place while not doing anything, then that is being soft and shouldn't happen.
Yeah you've pretty much nailed it.
I agree too.

Been living independently since my mid teens and if things were as they are now economy-wise, I would not have been able to make ends meet.

Even now, I wouldn't be able to afford to live as I currently do if I was still stuck in the enslavement system working 8+ hrs/day @$30-50/hr.

I live in a small rural township nowadays and overall average rental costs are a bit cheaper compared to the city I moved here from.... although real estate prices are pretty much equally bloody absurd here as everywhere else.

The average dinky little 1 or 2 bedroom rental around this rural township was $500+ at the low end -as of a few months ago when last I checked....😂 probably even higher now.

Can't imagine how difficult it must be for anyone, including adults, on the minimum wage. It'd be near impossible to afford rent & also power/gas, food, petrol, etc without at least splitting the rent with one other fulltime wage slave.

Kids can move out if they want to. It's just a matter of will-power.

😄Yeah of course.
Have I suggested otherwise somewhere?

Hopefully prior to any "kids" moving out, they would have already exercised their will-power such to achieve financial viability in order to actually do so in a reasonable manner.

I was technically a "kid"-(@15)-when I left "home" in the early 00s, when most things were much more affordable than now.
Luckily I had friends with flats who let me couch surf because I didn't have a job at first, and had absolutely no financial support whatsoever.

So, sure, I had the will-power/& justified motivation to-(*escape)-leave home, but if it wasn't for my friends generosity....😂 I would have been on the street mate.

Summertime or even spring and fall isn't so bad for being homeless, assuming you got a tent or sleeping bag or better yet, a car
True.

Back in...(🤔I think it was)-2017 or 18, me and the dog spent about 8 months on the road. Wasn't exactly homeless, though we either slept in the car-(within urban areas)-or in a small tent-(when out in the wops)-if there was somewhere decent to set-it up.

Whether using a car or a tent, one thing I'd strongly recommend having on ya at all times, is a good weapon.

I'm reasonably well built and most mofos would think twice about messing with me, however there were numerous occasions late at night/early am while sleeping in the tent and the car when I'd been awoken by the dog nutting out at dodgy c_nts who'd surrounded us. 😂They never stuck around once I burst out of the tent/or car waving the machete around.
I'm thankful dog was with me otherwise I'd probably be dead coz I would not have noticed these creeps until it was too late.

Weapon or not, I think it is extremely dangerous for anyone to be homeless, but especially younger individuals.

Why younger individuals?

It's tough to find places to park or to setup a tent. Well, I was homeless in this rural county for nearly a year, but luckily Virginia (USA) has these park and ride areas where you can park, but technically, they're not for homeless people.

In the US, you can't rent a two-bedroom apartment with a minimum wage job. In fact, the best idea is a room.

Well mainly just because of the obvious aye.

Considering a teenager, male or female, is at a significant disadvantage right across the board by comparison to most adults.

Young homeless individuals are essentially like defenseless prey to nefarious individuals.

New Zealand is a relatively safe country....😅but even as an adult male, I still need to be extremely cautious in certain situations. Especially in urban areas where the major gangs are set-up.

A lot of the gangbangers send their young prospects, usually teenaged delinquents, to commit specific criminal acts in order to earn a patch.

On the least harmful end of the spectrum, they may have to burglarize a target. While at the extreme end of the spectrum.... assaults, grape, torture and of course murder too.

This happened to a friend on Guy Fawkes night 2004.
His name was Jeremy Frew.
He was only 16yo.

In our country, it is not common for people to leave at the age of eighteen. The majority of parents are strict or conservative in that they do not want their kids to go. I left when I was 19 years old and returned when I was 33. But at 35, I decided to move out of my parent's house once more because I wanted to live on my own and avoid being around toxic individuals. It is okay to leave at the age of eighteen as long as you can live on your own.
