Thoughts on those who keep a gun in their home but refuse to keep it locked up.

We have a few guns in my house. It is only my wife and I. We still have them locked up in a safe. With trigger locks. We love to go target shooting at the range. One of the things we do together and love it.
Cool, right on. What kind of guns do you like?

Don't leave, you are of sound intelligence and thought.

You're right. My bad.
🤔I was....right?

Geezus cripes Z, are you mirroring me?

I want to think you're being genuine, however I've seen far too many similarly sudden & drastic shifts to simply take words alone as Truth without congruent actions substantiating them.

Honestly mate I'm not trying to be a ****, unfortunately it is very difficult for me to discern whether this is authentic sentiment or a covert manipulation strategy.

Feigned friendliness is something I see often presented by hardcore "right wingers" who regularly attempt it with me.

As far as I can tell, they do it to get me to lower my guard while also seeking to gather personal intel to use against me.

Several "left wingers" have also previously used the same tactics on me too, although for some strange reason their attempts weren't near as cunning as the "righties" tend to be.

Either way, and regardless whence from either side of the political dichotomy they may present, the fact is these tactics and strategies simply do not affect me in the intended ways....in almost all cases the opposite outcome results.

If this is what is occurring here, I would politely ask that it ceases immediately.

I am not meaning that as if a threat, I am actually intending it specifically to safeguard from the inevitable blowback.

Eg: "I am like rubber, others are like glue. Things thrown at me will only bounce back, sticking to....."

Hopefully I am mistaken though, and in which case I would instead ask that the friendly *Words expeditiously become congruent with equivalent *Actions and thereafter do maintain consistency in order to prove this is not a mere trick.

😎Jah?

Dude, you need to chill. I hope you don't act this way when other people try to befriend you.

All kinds really. I started out with a single shot 16 gauge. I have all the single shots now except for the 28. Have a good collection we enjoy.

I was completely anti gun until I actually moved to the USA. Now I own several. Here you need them as law enforcement reaction times can be sketchy due to the simple vastness of the Country. MAny people live in small towns or rural communities where police are scarce with maybe only 1 or 2 active officers. So yes, I'm going to keep guns and keep them where I can reach them when and if ever needed. I'm ex Army so I'm very familiar with how to handle a gun too.
