Madrid file hate crime complaint for Vini abuse

Real Madrid filed a complaint Friday with Spanish hate crime prosecutors over the "racist and hate insults" directed at forward Vinícius Júnior by groups of Atlético Madrid and Barcelona supporters.

This stuff truly sucks and it's not just a joke. Get a thick skin? I don't know. I'm for being tough, but you won't catch me on the other side saying crap like this. What kind of garbage would do this?

Racism within soccer is nothing new and the regulating bodies have been fighting it for years but Spain is especially bad for it. They still have the Franco mentality.

When I was a kid, middle fingers when visiting other schools was the norm. Myself, I'm numb to hate that isn't right in your face. How can chants bother people so much?

We see racism in sports all the time and I feel it is sad that it happens. I am happy that things are in place to prevent it and stop it. Some people feel that because it's chants it isn't as bad as saying it to someone outright but I feel if you allow it, the more people will think it's fine and normal and it will only get worse.

Yeah, people always complain about diversity in the media and say it's oppressive, but surely anti-diversity like in Nazi Germany, or something has a strong effect also. For instance, you had Kristallnacht and Jews getting spit on and all that.
