I am wondering if anyone here has been in a protest before. I have not been in one. I have spoke out in protest, but never did anything like a sit outside or anything like that.

Interesting topic! No, never protested. Never needed to.

What did you speak out in protest about, if it’s okay to ask?

It was when I was in high school. They wanted to take away our smoking area.

I have not smoked in 10+ years now. I bet it is close to 20 years now. hehe

I'm surprised your school even had a smoking area.
I'm based in the UK, you have to be over 18 to smoke here.
I don't know much about US laws, have things changed, or are laws simply different?

I am 51 years old. Things were different back then.
Wow, insane. Bet there was a lot of drama and arguments with parents, would you say that's the case?

It is 21 here now. It is a federal law.
Oh yeah, everything is 21 in the USA now :p

I was really young when I started. Didn't get in trouble for it until I was like 15 or so. I quit because I am cheap and didn't want to pay. Now they are way to much cash. 10.00 to 15.00 a pack.

How old were you when you started? Clearly below age 15 from your post, wow.

Trouble with ? The law? Parents?
What punishment did you get? lol

Remember, inflation and all that. Wages are also much higher now ;p
Apparently software developer salaries used to be £3000 a year WAY back, in the UK. That's NOTHING now, you'd probably die. lol

If I remember right, was no law back then. Parents. I don't think they did anything. Said I had to buy my own and I couldn't smoke in front of them or something like that.

No had the paper routes before then.
Before age 10? Wow, no laws at all. Do you think that's a good or bad thing? What age do you think people should be allowed to be employed at? Do you think it's a good idea for laws to be changed to allow younger peeps to be employed?

PS: I don't know if you'd prefer me to start a separate thread on the subject, or if you wanna be lax on off-topic posts. Please let me know what you prefer, and I apologise if you feel i'm bombing this thread too much :)

Yes, sure have!!
gay rights of course haha
I don't really know much about gay rights in Australia, will be interesting to have a read up on it. It's a shame not all countries have gay rights though. Personally I find the views of the Catholic church hypocritical.
