Are rooms "the new apartments"?

It seems like rooms are charging what apartments used to charge in the US and probably other nations. Do you feel rooms constitute a good deal? Well, a room can actually be a mini-apartment. You just add a cooking area and bathroom. Anyway, a lot of rooms don't have that luxury.

I could never live in a 'room', it be way too small. Granted I don't need a big place but I still need an area to put stuff and walk around.

I'm in a rooming house now. The room is fairly big and there is a shared kitchen, but I keep a small fridge in my room. Anyway, it's not your own house to yourself, but it's a luxury suite compared to a dorm room. I'm not complaining.

Prices of homes and apartments are so over inflated right now that many i know are resorting to renting rooms. Some just can't afford what landlords are asking for.

$728/mo with utilities, but it's a special program for the disabled. That's very cheap for Nashville, Tennessee.
