Rise in homeless people

It's very frustrating to see a potential nation, a country full of the natural resources like oil still languishing in poverty due to higher rates of unemployment

There's no doubt that the rich and middle class have driven up rents. In that case, of course, less than perfect people wont be able to handle it. I mean, who saves and plans, the Brady Bunch?

I think it's just people not wanting to work, or possibly displaced from being able to work due to advancing machine processes. Wish there were more programs to get people back into the work force.

A lot of people can't work due to criminal records. Well, there are programs to help felons, but maybe they're not getting across to people. Anyway, other reasons are bad locations with inability to relocate and very bad employment records.

I believe that every individual has the potential to improve their life status. If they do not take action to change, they are responsible for their situation.

We can attribute to the government if they didn't provide any help. I understand that the government has various programs for the people. Every individual should aim to improve themselves.

In this small town I was at, there was around 100 homeless, even for a small town. Anyway, the reason for most it was probably the fact that a criminal conviction keeps you from housing and a job. How might that be changed?

There are different reasons for homelessness in different countries. In the US, it might be the result of illegal immigration, however, in my home country, the homeless is a result of people migrating to the cities from villages.

In many cities there are homeless shelters, but they choose not to live there, probably because it's a threat to their freedom. Anyway, to a large extent, I can understand because, from personal experience, people wanting to help are often abusive (controlling, nosy, judgmental etc.).

I think this is due to a mix of things, personal failings, overly poor policies, excessive regulations, a monetary policy that leaves a lot to be desired, and a vile and corrupt system, all of which together are causing the number of homeless people to increase.
