Traditional cultural values vs modernization: Would there ever be a balance?

For most of us that come from very conservative societies, one problem that we face is sticking to our cultural values that has defined our existence and adapting to modernization as inspired by technology.

It seems the two can't go together as one needs to be eroded for the other. Can there ever be a balance between the two?
