Animal testing is something that has been going on for a very long time. Companies are required to state on their packaging whether something they are selling was or was not tested on animals so that consumers know whether it was or not and are able to make a decision on whether they wish to purchase the product and support the use of animal testing or not.
I myself always buy products that are not tested on animals, it has always been the case as I do not agree with animals being used for testing purposes of products that will cause them considerable harm and pain.
