People Serving God Only Cause of Benefits

In the book of Job, Satan said that Job only served cause of what he got. In that case, God let Satan harm Job severely to see if Job was truly God's friend. Well, do you feel people are just serving for the blessings they get?

Most people nowadays behave that way. That's why it is being said that there is no real gospel in the world today.

A big example of this idea is the teaching of mega-pastor Joel Osteen. Now, while I admire his positive and optimistic style, I have a feeling people don't see that the Christian life is also about suffering, not just blessings.

It's human nature to want only pleasure only. No one enjoys suffering and you can see that many Christians are just that way. I don't blame anyone that is not ready for the pains that comes with life because a lot of us want that easy life.

What a lot of people also don't get is that Bible verses pertaining to blessings, protection, providing basic needs etc. only apply to the faithful. Note: that's not saying people can't make mistakes, but extremely two-faced people are out.
